On June 15, 2023, Don Bosco Tech Chandigarh hosted an engaging guest lecture aimed at promoting awareness among students of the Associate Desktop Publishing (DTP) and E-commerce domains. The session, conducted by Mohinder Kaur Kotariya in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau Chandigarh, was part of the "Nashe se Azadi - Anti-drug Awareness Program." With approximately 40 students and two trainers in attendance, the lecture delved into crucial insights about drug abuse and the role of drug de-addiction centers in combating this issue.

The session commenced with a captivating introduction to the topic of drug abuse, emphasizing the negative connotations associated with drugs due to their widespread misuse. Through interactive discussions, students were encouraged to rethink their perceptions and understand that while drugs can serve beneficial purposes when used responsibly, misuse can lead to severe health consequences.

To make the topic more relatable and engaging, the lecture highlighted the classification systems used for pharmaceutical drugs, such as the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification and the Biopharmaceutics Classification System. By explaining these systems in a simplified manner, students gained insights into how drugs are categorized based on their chemical properties and mechanisms of action. Moreover, the session underscored the importance of adhering to government regulations in drug production to curb smuggling and ensure public safety. Students were urged to become responsible citizens by avoiding drug misuse and promptly reporting any related crimes to the authorities.

Throughout the lecture, interactive elements such as group discussions, case studies, and real-life examples were incorporated to enhance student engagement and understanding. By fostering an interactive learning environment, the session aimed to empower students with knowledge and equip them with the tools to make informed decisions regarding drug use and advocacy for a drug-free society.
