On August 22, 2023, Don Bosco Tech Society Chandigarh organized a guest lecture at the center for DTP and E-commerce Executive students. The lecture was conducted by Ms. Savita, the GDA Trainer, who enlightened approximately 40 trainees on the topic of personal hygiene. In attendance were one trainer and all the trainees, actively participating in the session. Ms. Savita first discussed the concept of Eye Flu, also known as viral conjunctivitis, highlighting its viral origin and its symptoms, including redness, itching, watering, sticky discharge, and potential discomfort. She emphasized the contagious nature of the disease, cautioning about its spread through contact with infected surfaces or close contact with affected individuals.
The lecture then delved into the most common symptoms of Viral Conjunctivitis, such as redness, continuous itching, excess watery discharge, sticky yellowish discharge, and occasionally blurred vision or a gritty sensation in the eyes. Furthermore, Ms. Savita elaborated on Prevention and Hygiene Practices to minimize the risk of contracting viral conjunctivitis. These practices included regular handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before touching facial features or eyes, avoiding sharing personal items like towels and cosmetics, disinfecting regularly-touched surfaces, and maintaining proper hygiene for contact lens wearers.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in the question-and-answer round. Feedback from the attendees reflected a positive experience, noting Ms. Savita's humble demeanor and the overall success of the session as per the planned agenda.
