On 9th September 2024, Don Bosco Tech Chandigarh Centre hosted an engaging and insightful guest lecture for students specializing in the CCE Domestic Non-Voice domain. The lecture was conducted by Miss Sonika, a part-time professional in the BPO sector, who is also advancing her studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University. Her blend of academic rigor and hands-on industry experience made the session both captivating and deeply relevant for the students.

The lecture kicked off with a detailed breakdown of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) – a pivotal industry practice where companies delegate specific business operations to third-party providers. Miss Sonika explained how companies often outsource critical functions like customer service, technical support, human resources, and data entry to optimize efficiency, cut costs, and sharpen their focus on core business activities.

What made the session truly compelling was Miss Sonika’s discussion on the future of the BPO industry. She painted a vivid picture of the evolving landscape, marked by the rapid growth of technology, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) and automation. She talked about the rising use of chatbots for customer service and AI-driven analytics to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Students were intrigued by the growing demand for niche BPO services, such as legal process outsourcing (LPO) and creative process outsourcing (CPO), which are expected to open up exciting, specialized career paths.

Miss Sonika also emphasized the strategic importance of selecting and managing outsourcing partners to harness the full potential of these trends, offering students invaluable advice on navigating the challenges that come with these partnerships.

The session wrapped up with a thorough exploration of how BPO is reshaping organizational agility, performance, and competitiveness in today’s fast-paced, globalized world. Students left the lecture brimming with inspiration and armed with fresh insights, ready to apply this newfound knowledge in their future careers and contribute to the dynamic world of BPO.
