On 7th March 2023, Don Bosco Tech Chandigarh organized a highly informative guest lecture focused on HIV awareness for the E-commerce domain. Miss Rattan Kaur, a seasoned GDA Trainer, conducted the session with great expertise. The event witnessed active participation from approximately 23 students and was attended by three trainers as well. The lecture commenced with a comprehensive introduction to HIV, elucidating that it is a virus that targets the immune system and can progress to AIDS if left untreated. Miss Rattan Kaur emphasized that while there is no definitive cure for HIV, effective medical care can help control the virus, enabling individuals to lead healthy lives and protect their partners.

During the session, the symptoms associated with HIV were discussed in detail. It was highlighted that most individuals experience flu-like symptoms within 2 to 4 weeks after infection, which may persist for days or weeks. However, it was emphasized that experiencing these symptoms does not confirm an HIV diagnosis, as other conditions can present similar symptoms. The importance of HIV testing as the only reliable method to determine infection status was underscored.

The interactive nature of the lecture allowed students to pose numerous queries, which Miss Rattan Kaur efficiently addressed, further enhancing the understanding of the trainees. The insightful information shared during the session left a profound impact on the attendees, motivating them to not only prioritize their health but also to spread awareness and encourage others to get tested for HIV. The session was an invaluable learning experience that empowered the trainees with essential knowledge and a sense of responsibility towards health advocacy.
