28 Nov 2019
Don Bosco Tech- Chandigarh organized a guest lecture on ‘HIV AIDS’ for trainees on November 28, 2019. Ms.Disha Dhar from NACO was invited as the resource person for the lecture who was given a warm welcome by the staff and the trainees.
The program began with a brief project introduction given by Ms. Jayati Kakkar (Centre Coordinator). Ms. Disha Dhar delivered an impressive lecture on HIV-AIDS awareness & informed that the full form of AIDS is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
She informed students that HIV/AIDS has no cure. The infection weakens the body so much so that the body cannot fight the virus or get it out. The interactive session was attended by both male and female students. Ms. Disha briefed the audience on the spread and prevention of HIV-AIDS in society. She shared the statistics about India and World and stressed the importance of people taking seriously the threat of HIV infection in society.
Thereafter, she interacted with the trainees who came up with many queries. She replied to their questions and convinced them with suitable explanations. Trainees participated actively in the interacting sessions. There were quite good questions raised by the trainees which impressed Disha and she appreciated the trainees for their understanding level, vision and IQ level. Trainees were quite satisfied with this information and enquired a lot of questions on TB also which were calmly answered by Ms. Disha.
In the end, Disha said “There is no actual vaccine for AIDS, but there is one other kind of vaccine, and that is awareness. There is no actual medicine for AIDS, but there is another kind of medicine which is our behavior.” It was a very inspiring lecture for all the trainees of Don Bosco Tech- Chandigarh. Trainees also wholeheartedly took part in the program and clarified all their doubts.
