Reached the target destination on one Mushroom farmhouse which belongs to Mr. Tom Nongrum, who is an entrepreneur who start up his business of mushroom cultivation on a small scale but after years of experience and return income that he can expand his mushroom house. We appreciate him for accepting our request to have a field visit at this farmhouse and has helped to lead and guide our trainees of the Mushroom grower. We are overwhelmed by his personality as he welcomes us once we reached there, he then took us for field exposure by showing us around the farm and showed us a few of the mechanical equipment for mushroom cultivation.
The program starts with a welcoming speech by Mrs. Pyndaplin Lyngdoh Nongkynrih - A mushroom grower Trainer. She welcomed Mr. Tom Nongrum and all trainees, followed with the briefing of the content that will take place on the day, after this it was handed over to Mr. Tom Nongrum to run the program. He opens up his speech by introducing himself and also about his business- the purpose of choosing this mushroom cultivation, the challenges, and the benefits of his business. He continued the session by explaining how to cultivate Oyster mushrooms at a very low investment and average money return with a hundred percent of work dedicated to it. He also explained in brief about the process of mushroom cultivation, the package of (storing of paddy straw, cutting of straw, preparation of the substrate, steaming/ boiling of straw, bagging, spawning, and planting of mushroom). He then followed with the demonstration session which startup with the using of the electrical straw cutter, steaming process, preparation of the substrate, and followed with the cultivation of mushroom.
