On 14th May 2022, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Housing and Urban Affairs members visited the Skill Training of Don Bosco Tech Society running a DAY NULM project in Don Bosco Technical School Shillong.
Shri. Jagdambika Pal, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Housing and Urban Affairs, Officials members of NULM and Urban Affairs officials were present during the visit, and the center members, Father Cyril, and Brother Pyndap. The total number of guests present during the visit was 80
The program was facilitated by State Placement Coordinator Ms. Rhiedolcy Diengdoh and then followed by a welcome speech by Rev. Father Saji, Director of Don Bosco Technical School Shillong. In his speech, he briefed on Don Bosco Technical school and the services provided for the youth for the last 99 years. He was glad and felt privileged to have many dignitaries on one platform.
Don Bosco Tech trainees of Shillong center undergoing training in Housekeeping and Domestic Data Entry Operator under DAY NULM project presented a song. It was sung in the local language, the meaning of the song was about the youth of today that they should stand on their own feet to spread their wings by joining training in different sectors to be employed in other trades and not depend only on the Government jobs.
Rev. Father Arcadius proposed a vote of thanks. He expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries for their visit to the center and invited the guest for a short tour of the classrooms and labs of the institute campus. The program concluded with the high tea party.
