A guest lecture was held on the 14th November 2022 at the Don Bosco Tech center to the trainees of Food & Beverage Service Associate B1 under Skill Meghalaya.

Ms. Ibanrilang Nongrum a former student of Don Bosco Tech Society, she was placed at The Leela Palace Bengaluru. She was cordially welcomed by the students in the presence of Miss. Rhiedolcy Diengdoh (Placement Coordinator).

Ms. Nongrum is getting ready to work in Oman, UAE, but her documents are in process.

She started the class by recollecting that she too was an alumni of the institution. She shared that she comes from a poor family with less income, but luck was on her side when she heard about this training from friends, she took the opportunity to come to Don Bosco Tech to join the training program after getting to know about the placement assistant provided on completion of the training. Likewise, she completed her class nine, but could not continue further due to financial crises in her family. However, she got placement and with the salary received she enrolled herself in NIOS distance learning and now had completed class ten. She is continuing her further studies in distance education.

In the session, she talks about work ethic, long working hours and demand of strict discipline. Furthermore, she advised the trainees not to count by the working hours but to take it as a challenge, have patience even though work pressure is high. Hard work and dedication in the work paves the way to success. She motivated and inspire the trainees that no matter what life takes them, they just have to focus on their goal and move on.

At the end of the session, the trainees as well as the trainers wish her all the best for her future endeavor.
