On March 7, 2020,  a ‘Fire Safety and Precaution’ mock drills were organized by Don Bosco Technical School (Shillong), however, the trainees of Don Bosco Tech Society fortunate to participate in the Mock Drill. The activity was conducted by the Fire Brigade (Government of Meghalaya). It was organized in Don Bosco Technical School premises, which kick-started at around 10 am. A total of 15 trainees participated in the awareness program along with the staff and trainers of Don Bosco Tech Society, Shillong Centre.

The awareness program actively proceeded were the office staff members of the department explained and briefed the trainees of both the institution on causes of fire break out and its disastrous consequences and measures to prevent. The trainees also participated in few fire risk reduction activities which were assisted by the Fire Service Officials. The Officials also gave inputs on how to prevent the spread of fire and its safety measures during and aftermath. “During windy season, you need to be more cautious,” said the Officials.

It was a fun-filled learning for the trainees. The trainees learned and observed the various measures and techniques to prevent from fire out-break and harm as a result. They learned about the causes of fire break-out. 

All the trainees learned keenly and enjoyed the mock drill as it was a break from their regular curriculum.
