On the 27th of July 2023, the Don Bosco Tech Society had the honor of hosting two remarkable alumni, Mr. Edelbert Kharbhih and Mr. Batskhemlang Massar, from the esteemed Shillong Center. Both accomplished professionals were trained under the Supporting Human Capital Development in Meghalaya Project (SHCDM) in housekeeping and are currently contributing their expertise at Vivanta Shillong.
Miss Genesis initiated the session by warmly welcoming them to the center, inviting them to share their inspiring journey as working professionals.
Mr. Edelbert Kharbhih, now serving as a Supervisor in Housekeeping at Vivanta Shillong, candidly shared his personal challenges and experiences in the new work environment. He described the daily struggle of adapting to a distant workplace, navigating new cultural nuances, and adjusting to altered food habits. Amidst the stringent work ethics and pressure to meet targets, he admitted facing moments of profound difficulty and a desire to surrender. However, he persevered, drawing strength from within and maintaining a resilient and positive outlook.
Sharing the floor, Mr. Batskhemlang Massar reflected on his initial hardships, emphasizing the value of patience, hard work, and unwavering dedication. Relaying the trials of living away from home and stepping into the unknown, he highlighted the invaluable lessons and unique experiences that transformed his journey. He expressed appreciation for the excellent facilities provided by the company and found joy in forging friendships with individuals from diverse cultures and languages.
Both alumni delivered motivational messages, urging the trainees to remain emotionally and mentally resilient in the face of life's challenges. Their parting advice emphasized the significance of hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to their chosen paths.
Their compelling stories serve as a beacon of inspiration, showcasing the resilience and determination that embody the spirit of Don Bosco Tech Society's alumni.
