Don Bosco Tech is committed to equipping its students with the latest knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen fields. Recently, as part of our ongoing partnership with Schneider, a third-day training session was conducted by the esteemed ITES trainer from the Jalandhar center.

On the 18th of November, Mr. Tarvinder Singh delivered a crucial lecture focusing on electrical safety practices. With years of expertise in the field, Mr. Singh elucidated key safety protocols essential for anyone working with electricity.

The session underscored several critical points to ensure the safety of individuals working with electrical equipment. Among these, participants were reminded to avoid using outlets or cords with exposed wiring, as well as to refrain from utilizing power tools if their guards were removed.

Furthermore, Mr. Singh emphasized the importance of unobstructed access to panels, circuit breakers, and fuse boxes, essential for swift response during emergencies. He also highlighted the imperative of refraining from touching individuals or electrical apparatus in the event of an electrical incident.

To mitigate risks, participants were reminded to use non-conductive materials for exposed receptacle boxes and to familiarize themselves with the location of panels and circuit breakers for emergency situations. Additionally, the significance of using the correct fuse size was stressed to prevent potential fire hazards.

A key takeaway from the session was the protocol of always disconnecting the power source first before undertaking any maintenance or repair work. By adhering to this fundamental practice, individuals can significantly reduce the risk of electrical accidents and ensure their safety in the workplace.

Overall, the lecture served as a valuable opportunity for students to reinforce their understanding of electrical safety practices learned in previous classes. Through collaboration with industry leaders like Schneider, Don Bosco Tech remains dedicated to empowering its students with essential knowledge and skills for a safe and successful career journey.
