An industrial visit to Power Grid

With a sole purpose of understanding the functioning of the industry, Don Bosco Tech, Jalandhar organized an exposure visit to the Power Grid of Village Jamsher Khas for Assistant Electrician Domain on October 29, 2019.
This power grid is one of the biggest grids of the area. Mr. Deepak Chana (Trainer, Electrician) took the students to the power house. There the trainees were introduced to Mr. Kamaljit Singh (Sub Division Engineer).
He started by explaining about the power house and its functioning. Mr. Singh told the trainees that the power house generates massive 2lakhs and 22 thousand KW (Kilowatt) power per day. By explaining the functionality of the power grid he shared that the power is converted into 66Kv (kilovolt) and divided into 1100v (voltage) and then is supplied to various parts of the city. He also explained about each and every machinery and the whole set ups of varied shapes and sizes and colors of wire, their functions and purposes. While taking the trainees around, showing in and out, he drew their attention to safety at work place.
At the end of the voyage trainees were given a timeslot to ask questions related to their domain to which Mr. Singh answered brilliantly, sensing joy and satisfaction. Trainees were extremely happy to visit such place and were very happy to gain knowledge in depth.
