On January 12, 2024, the Jalandhar Centre of Don Bosco Tech celebrated the auspicious occasion of Lohri with great fervor and enthusiasm. Lohri is a festival where people gather to pray to the God of Fire, seeking blessings for their families and loved ones.

At the center, all the trainees came together to prepare a traditional round bonfire, adhering to customary practices. They lit the fire with wood placed at the center, symbolizing the onset of the harvest season and the arrival of warmer winters. As the flames danced and provided warmth, trainees took turns to share the significance of Lohri, highlighting its agricultural and seasonal importance.

Following the sharing session, prayers were offered, and Parikrama, the ritualistic circumambulation around the bonfire, was performed. Students contributed to the puja rituals by offering traditional items such as gachak, til, gur, and peanuts. As part of their Punjabi heritage, the trainees delighted in performing folk dances like giddha, while enjoying gachak and peanuts, and singing Lohri songs.

The celebration resonated deeply with the rich traditions and customs passed down from ancestors, fostering a sense of unity and joy among the trainees. Don Bosco Tech's Lohri festivities encapsulated the spirit of cultural heritage, camaraderie, and joyous celebration.
