27 Dec 2024
On 27th December 2024, Don Bosco Tech Jalandhar Centre hosted a deeply moving event in remembrance of the supreme sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's four sons, the Chaar Sahibzade. The day was dedicated to honoring their unparalleled courage, resilience, and devotion to their faith, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
The event began with the solemn and powerful chanting of Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, enveloping the gathering in an atmosphere of reverence and reflection. Following this, the ITES Trainer, Mr. Satinder Singh, captivated the audience with the historical account of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his family. His vivid narration transported the students back in time, recounting the siege of Anandpur Sahib, where Guru Sahib and his followers endured eight months of relentless hardship, surviving both hunger and betrayal.
The audience listened with rapt attention as Mr. Singh narrated how, after crossing the turbulent Sarsa River, the Guru’s family was tragically separated. Guru Gobind Singh Ji, accompanied by 40 Sikhs and his elder sons, Sahibzada Ajit Singh and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh, reached Chamkaur Sahib, where they faced an overwhelming Mughal army of ten lakh soldiers. Against insurmountable odds, the elder Sahibzadas fought valiantly and embraced martyrdom, epitomizing bravery and selflessness.
Meanwhile, the students were deeply moved by the account of Mata Gujri Ji and the two younger Sahibzadas, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, who were captured by Wazir Khan. Enduring unimaginable suffering in the cold, dark confines of the Thanda Burj, the young Sahibzadas stood steadfast in their faith, refusing to renounce their religion despite being subjected to torture. Their unshakable conviction and ultimate martyrdom at such tender ages became a testament to their unwavering devotion and courage.
As the stories of the Sahibzadas unfolded, the trainees of the current batch paid their heartfelt homage through soul-stirring songs, celebrating the indomitable spirit of the Guru’s sons. The songs resonated deeply, serving as a reminder of the values of fearlessness, sacrifice, and perseverance.
The event concluded with a collective chanting of Waheguru Ji, uniting everyone in prayer and reflection. The day was more than just a commemoration; it was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by the Chaar Sahibzade for faith, freedom, and humanity.
For the students, this event was a profound learning experience, one that not only brought them closer to their history but also inspired them to uphold the values of courage and righteousness in their own lives. The memory of this day will undoubtedly linger in their hearts, a tribute to the eternal legacy of the Sahibzadas.
