Don Bosco Tech - Gulbarga conducted a guest lecture for IT-CCE and Digital Mitra candidates as part of their ongoing training program. The session was led by Mr. Satishkumar, Counsellor at the District Employment Office, who shared valuable insights on career planning, mobile registration for job platforms, interview preparation, and his real-life experiences from the employment sector.
The lecture aimed to guide trainees on potential career paths after their training, introduce them to mobile-based job registration and digital employment services, train them on interview techniques and soft skills, and inspire them through experience-based sharing. Mr. Satishkumar spoke in detail about various career opportunities in both government and private sectors, highlighting the growing scope for candidates with IT and digital skills. He also encouraged the trainees to explore self-employment avenues and leverage digital platforms for freelancing work.
During the session, the trainees were guided step-by-step on registering their profiles on platforms such as the National Career Service (NCS), Skill India Portal, and state-level job boards. Emphasis was placed on keeping mobile numbers updated, creating professional digital resumes, and making full use of available online resources. In the segment on interview preparation, practical tips were shared on facing interviews confidently, answering common questions, maintaining proper communication and body language, and demonstrating professional etiquette.
The experience-sharing segment brought in real stories and examples from Mr. Satishkumar’s work with job seekers. These practical anecdotes gave the trainees a deeper understanding of employer expectations and recruitment processes. The trainees actively participated, asked questions, and showed appreciation for the relevant and practical advice provided.
Feedback from the participants indicated that they found the session highly motivating and informative. Many expressed increased confidence in their career planning and interview readiness, and found the mobile registration demonstration particularly useful in accessing job opportunities online. Overall, the guest lecture proved to be an engaging and impactful learning experience, equipping trainees with essential tools and confidence for their job search and career progression.
