Exposure visits play a vital role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience. Keeping this vision in mind, Don Bosco Tech Kalaburagi organized an exposure visit for the Digital Mitra Batch to Zudio, a popular retail apparel brand, on Saturday, 6th December 2025, in Kalaburagi. The visit offered the candidates an opportunity to witness the dynamic functioning of a modern retail environment and understand how digital tools support everyday operations.

The primary aim of the visit was to help students gain first-hand exposure to retail store management, customer service practices, inventory handling, and digital billing systems. It also provided them with a chance to interact directly with industry professionals and explore potential career pathways in the retail sector.

Upon arrival at Zudio, the candidates were warmly welcomed by the store staff, who conducted an orientation session outlining the store’s overall operations. The team explained how customer flow is managed efficiently, how product displays are designed to enhance shopping experiences, and how the store is segmented into different categories for ease of access and visual appeal.

The students were then taken on a guided tour of the store’s major sections, including men’s wear, women’s wear, and kids’ wear. Each section showcased a wide range of apparel such as shirts, trousers, T-shirts, kurtis, western outfits, accessories, and seasonal collections. The staff explained the logic behind product placement, pricing strategies, and how trends influence merchandise selection. This helped the candidates understand how thoughtful layout planning plays a crucial role in retail success.

One of the most insightful segments of the visit was the demonstration of stock management practices. The Zudio team explained how incoming stock is recorded digitally, how inventory levels are monitored in real time, and how sold or dispersed items are updated in the system. Candidates observed how retail management software is used for data entry and inventory control, highlighting the importance of accuracy and technology in modern retail operations.

The billing process was another key learning experience. Students were introduced to barcode scanning, price verification, discount application, receipt generation, and payment handling through both digital and cash modes. This session gave them a clear understanding of how seamless and efficient billing systems enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

The visit concluded with an interactive question and answer session, where candidates eagerly raised questions related to career opportunities in retail, inventory tracking methods, pricing decisions, and customer service challenges. The Zudio team patiently addressed all queries and motivated the students to focus on developing relevant skills such as communication, adaptability, and digital literacy.

The exposure visit proved to be a highly enriching experience for the Digital Mitra candidates. It strengthened their understanding of retail operations, enhanced their awareness of digital tools used in the industry, and boosted their confidence through real-world interaction. Most importantly, it reinforced the significance of customer service and teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.

Don Bosco Tech Kalaburagi extends sincere gratitude to the Zudio team for their cooperation and support in making this visit both educational and inspiring. Such exposure visits continue to empower youth with practical insights and prepare them for successful careers in the evolving world of work.
