Report on the Inauguration of IT CCE Batch and Farewell Ceremony of Digital Mitra Batch

Don Bosco Tech Society, Kalaburagi, organized the Inauguration of the IT CCE Batch and the Farewell Ceremony of the Digital Mitra Batch on 18 June 2026 at the DB Tech campus, Kalaburagi. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm and participation from trainees, staff members, guests, and alumni.

The programme commenced with a prayer song beautifully rendered by Ms. Akshata and team, invoking God's blessings on the gathering. The event was compered by Ms. Bhuvaneshwari and Ms. Shreya, who guided the proceedings smoothly throughout the programme.

The dignitaries present on the dais were:

  • Chief Guest: Mr. Muralidhar Ratnagiri, Principal, Government ITI College, Kalaburagi
  • Special Guest: Mr. Pritto Thomas, State Coordinator, DB Tech Karnataka
  • Guest of Honour: Fr. George, SDB, Gulbarga
  • Alumni Representative: Mr. Mohan

The gathering was warmly welcomed by Ms. Susanna Wesly, a Digital Mitra trainee, who delivered the welcome speech and expressed gratitude to the guests and participants for their presence.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Muralidhar Ratnagiri appreciated the efforts of Don Bosco Tech in providing quality training and enhancing the employability of youth. He emphasized the importance of retaining knowledge and skills gained during training and highlighted the principle that “Work is Worship.” He stressed the significance of personality development, employability skills, and seriousness towards training programmes. He informed the trainees that only about 2% of employment opportunities are available in government sectors, while nearly 98% are in the private sector, making skill development and soft skills training essential. He encouraged unemployed youth to make the best use of need-based training programmes and appreciated Don Bosco Tech for its valuable contribution to society. He also assured support from his institution whenever required.

Mr. Pritto Thomas, State Coordinator of DB Tech Karnataka, spoke about the vision and mission of Don Bosco Tech. He highlighted the positive impact of DB Tech initiatives in empowering youth through skill development, employment opportunities, and holistic growth. He encouraged the trainees to remain committed to their career goals and make the best use of the opportunities provided.

In his address, Fr. George, SDB, emphasized the importance of skill training, especially for SSLC-failed candidates, and how such programmes create alternative pathways for livelihood and personal growth. He spoke about the transformation and development taking place in the Kalyana Karnataka region and encouraged the youth to contribute actively towards its progress and development.

The Alumni Representative, Mr. Mohan, shared his personal journey and experiences after completing training at Don Bosco Tech. He explained how the training helped him develop interview skills, gain confidence, and secure employment. He also provided valuable insights on sustaining oneself in the workplace through dedication, discipline, and continuous learning.

As part of the programme, study kits were distributed to the trainees by the dignitaries, motivating them to pursue their training with commitment and enthusiasm.

The event also featured a variety of cultural performances presented by the trainees, showcasing their talents and adding vibrancy to the celebration.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Rishita, who expressed gratitude to the guests, management, trainers, trainees, and all those who contributed to the success of the event.

The inauguration and farewell ceremony served as an inspiring platform to motivate the newly enrolled trainees while celebrating the achievements and journey of the outgoing Digital Mitra batch. The event reflected Don Bosco Tech's continued commitment towards youth empowerment, skill development, and employment generation.
