On July 23, 2025, Don Bosco Tech Society organized a dynamic and immersive exposure visit for its Guest Service Associate (Food & Beverage) trainees at the renowned Hotel KC PLACE, Sambalpur. This unique initiative aimed to bridge the gap between textbook knowledge and the fast-paced realities of the hospitality industry, offering trainees an eye-opening experience that sparked curiosity, inspiration, and deeper understanding.

Guided by the seasoned Food & Beverage trainer, Mr. Bhavani Sankar Bhanja, and graciously hosted by the charismatic Hotel Manager, Mr. Ranjan Singh, the trainees embarked on an insightful journey through the heart of hotel operations.

The day kicked off with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the hotel’s front office — the nerve center where every guest’s experience begins. Trainees discovered the intricacies of guest reservations, the precision required in check-in procedures, the vital role of porter services, and the critical task of room allocation. Mr. Singh emphasized how the front desk functions as the pulse of the hotel, where professionalism, speed, and courteous communication combine to create unforgettable first impressions.

Next came an engaging exploration of the Food & Beverage department, where the trainees witnessed the seamless collaboration between kitchen staff and service teams. They observed how attention to detail in order-taking, table setting, and guest interaction culminates in exceptional service. Mr. Singh shared invaluable insights, stressing that excellence in hospitality transcends efficiency—it’s about genuine warmth, empathy, and making every guest feel truly valued.

The visit concluded with a vibrant Q&A session. The trainees’ curious minds delved into diverse topics — from career advancement and sustainable practices to real-world problem-solving in hospitality. This dialogue not only deepened their understanding but also connected their classroom lessons with practical industry challenges and opportunities.

This exposure visit proved to be far more than a simple tour; it was a transformative experience. Trainees gained fresh perspectives on teamwork, communication, and the mindset needed to thrive in hospitality. Many left the visit inspired, with a newfound passion to pursue their careers in this dynamic field.

Don Bosco Tech Sambalpur, alongside Mr. Bhavani Sankar Bhanja and all the trainees, extends heartfelt gratitude to Hotel KC PLACE and Mr. Ranjan Singh for their warm hospitality and invaluable mentorship.

This day of discovery was a powerful step forward for the trainees — illuminating the path from theory to practice and kindling a lasting enthusiasm for the vibrant world of hospitality.
