Don Bosco Tech, Shillong Centre celebrated World Youth Skills Day on 14th July 2026 under the theme "Skills for a Shared Future." The event aimed to encourage students to showcase their creativity, practical abilities, and teamwork through a variety of engaging activities.

The celebration began with creative competitions, including drawing, poem writing, and graffiti. Students enthusiastically participated by creating artworks and literary pieces that reflected the theme of the day, expressing their ideas on the importance of skills, collaboration, and building a better future together.

Following the creative sessions, a series of fun and interactive games and activities were conducted to enhance and assess essential life skills such as listening, teamwork, speed, coordination, and reflexes. These activities encouraged active participation while promoting healthy competition among the students.

As the students belong to the Food & Beverage domain, a domain-specific competition on napkin-folding speed was also organized. Participants demonstrated their hospitality skills by folding napkins into various creative designs such as roses, hearts, stars, fans, bishop hats, and other decorative styles. The activity tested both speed and precision, highlighting the students' technical skills and creativity.

The programme was successfully conducted under the supervision of Miss Pdiang, Sir Reuben, and Sir Raymond, who ensured the smooth execution of all activities throughout the day. The competitions were judged by Miss Rhiedolcy and Sir Kynpham, who carefully evaluated the participants' performances and selected the winners of the drawing, poem writing, and graffiti competitions.

The celebration concluded with the announcement of the winners and words of appreciation for all participants. The event was a great success, providing students with an opportunity to develop and showcase their skills while embracing the spirit of World Youth Skills Day and its theme, "Skills for a Shared Future."
