Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda celebrated the “World Youth Skills Day” on July 15, 2022 at centre. The event started with brief discussion over the theme of the day “Learning and skills for life, work, and sustainable development”. The event was coordinated by centre team In the presence of centre head Mr. Sarat Chandra Tripathy.

To observe this day a drawing and painting competition followed by a cultural program was organized among the trainees. Trainees and trainers performed some activities/ indoor games, to mark the importance of the day and send a message among the youths.

Mr. Sarat Tripathy started the event with opening speech, where he explained about the importance of the day and aim to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping youths with multiple sets of skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship opportunities. World youth skills day is celebrated with great pump all over the world. This day is celebrated every year to develop the skills of the youth and to make them aware about its benefits. The aim of which is to make the youth self–reliant with self employment he said. He gave examples of the increasing world population particularly youth developing countries. Learning any skill is beneficial to everyone, and can be retained and nurtured through practice, precisely to equip with market-driven skills for better opportunities to stand special in a crowd of competitors in this era of Global competition.

The function ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Abhimanyu Behera (Domain Trainer). The function was organised by Mr. Diganta Pattnaik (Support Domain Trainer) along with all the staff and trainees who put in a lot of effort to make the function a success and to spread the massage to acquire the skill and share the information among the youths for better skilling, better job and for a better future.
