2nd guest lecture session for Mushroom Grower job role was successfully organized at Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda center on May 27, 2023 for the student of batch - 1 of Accenture 2023-24. Mr. Lokanath Mohanta owner of Sai Mushoom farm was invited as the guest lecture.
The guest lecture began with welcome address by the domain trainer Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain. He introduced and welcomed Mr. Lokanath Mohanta to deliver the lecture.
He has briefed type of mushroom in India. Mushroom cultivation does not require a lot of land and lot of money. It is one of most suitable fungal organisms for producing protein rich food from various agro waste or forest wastes without composting. There are mainly three different types of mushrooms grown in India namely oyster mushrooms, paddy straw mushrooms, and button mushrooms. All these mushrooms are of commercial importance they are grown over different techniques, and methods. Today, mushroom farming is India's most fruitful and lucrative industry. It is progressively gaining popularity in India because it quickly turns the laborious labor of farmers into profit he said.
He has described opportunities of Mushroom production provides an ideal opportunity for conversion of agro-waste into wealth, quality food and organic manure and leads to high range of reduction in environmental pollution. Mushroom being an indoor crop provides vast opportunities for empowering rural and urban women through cultivation, production of value-added products and marketing. It also provides vast opportunities for unemployed youths to take up mushroom cultivation and marketing. Mushroom provides an opportunity to eliminate protein malnutrition among people having cereals as staple food he added.
In the subsequent part of the session there was a FQAs session. Trainees have raised some questions which were addressed by Mr. Mohanta. The session ended with a hearty thanks to Mr. Mohanta by Mr. Diganta kumar Pattanaik in appreciation for the time out to educate the students.
