Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda organized an enriching exposure visit to Maa Basuli Mushroom Farm in Thakurmunda, Mayurbhanj, aiming to enhance the professional ethics of our trainees. Accompanied by Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain, our esteemed Domain Trainer, along with the enthusiastic participants of the Mushroom Grower Batch – 11 (Accenture 2023-24), this excursion held on March 13, 2024, proved to be a significant milestone in their journey towards personal and professional growth.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Bishnu Prasad Patra, the proprietor of Maa Basuli Mushroom Farm. Mr. Patra graciously guided our trainees through the intricacies of bed preparation and cropping of paddy straw mushroom, followed by a comprehensive demonstration on oyster mushroom cultivation. The session included insights into the essential ingredients required for successful cultivation, enriching our trainees with practical knowledge and technical skills essential for thriving in this field.

Mr. Patra emphasized the profitability of mushroom cultivation and spawn production, highlighting its simplicity, low cost, and suitability for rural areas. He shed light on the employment opportunities mushroom farming presents in both rural and semi-urban settings, emphasizing its potential as an additional income source. Recognizing the enthusiasm of our trainees, Mr. Patra graciously agreed to supply spawn to their villages at an affordable price, further empowering them to embark on this journey.
