Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda organized a guest lecturer for Organic Grower job role (Batch - 4) under Accenture -12 on “to get our student appropriate information related to organic grower” on August 30, 2022. Mr. Bhabani  Mohanta Soil Conservation Field Executive of Water Supply Department Govt. of Odisha was invited as the guest lecture. As well he has a good experienced in organic agriculture.

The guest lecture began with introduced by the domain trainer Mr. Abhimanyu Behera and heartily welcomed Mr. Bhabani Mohanta to deliver the lecture.

He has started the session with describe the benefit of organic grower; It helps in keeping agricultural production at a sustainable level. It reduces the cost of agricultural production and also improves the soil health. It ensures optimum utilization of natural resources for short-term benefit and helps in conserving them for future generation.

He has given some example how to generate income from organic grower if one really wants to do so. Then so many areas are there one can earn money by organic grower such as like:-

  • If you don’t have an own farm, there’s still several best food business ideas. One of these is creating own organic kitchen garden. This food business idea is excellent also if you’re living in a city or have small space to grow organic vegetables. You can sell these organic vegetables and herbs at local markets that deal in the stuff. Or simply spread the word in your neighborhood to get customers for organic products.
  • He said anyone with adequate spare in their backyard can become an organic vegetable farmer. It doesn’t need much space really because organic vegetables have a niche market. Organic vegetables fetch high price in the market. You can sell directly from your farm or from a small stall outside your home or nearest market.
  • There’re so many of people that wish to grow organic vegetables and fruits but don’t know where to get seeds. You could help these people out and make enough money by selling organic vegetable seeds. This business too doesn’t require much investment.
  • He said look up for a list of medicinal herbs. There are plenty around that have medicinal properties and are useful for home cures. Grow these medicinal herbs in your garden or farm with organic fertilizers and other stuff you will get money.

At last, there was a question answer session and he explained and answers all queries. He has advised to trainees to adopt the process of organic way of production; Organic farming is successful only if you sell direct to customer. It looks very hard at first but growth is very exponential.
