The team members of Don Bosco Tech (Thakurmunda) organized a blood donation camp at Thakurmunda (Odisha) campus on November 5, 2019. The Chief Guest of the event Mr. Prasant Kumar Behera (Chairperson, Thakurmunda NAC) inaugurated the camp by lightening the lamp. All the preparations such as beds, sanitation, equipment etc. for organizing the blood donation camp were arranged by the Don Bosco Tech team. Dr. G C Nayak and his team from Blood Bank (Karanjia) had arrived at DB Tech center in the morning. Some social workers and local Journalists are also invited to participate in the camp. 

Mr. Rameswar Tripathy formally welcomed the Chief Guest, Blood Bank Staff, Social Workers, Journalists, DB Tech Staff and all beloved Trainees. He explained the importance of social events in our daily life and the advantage of blood donation. Mr. Behera expressed his gratitude to Don Bosco Tech for arranging the camp in a rural area and said, “Blood donation is an indispensable component of health care; it contributes to saving millions of lives in every second. He also stressed the growing need for blood in the state and commended the young mass for their noble act.

The blood donation was started by honorable Chairman, followed by our trainers (Mr. Jagdish Prasad Swain, Abhimanyu Behera, and Rameswar Tripathy), social workers and some of our trainees. Since many of them were first-time donors, Dr. Nayak gave them confidence through his inspirational words. Doctors also addressed them all, saying that the blood donation does not weaken the donors. The recovery takes place very soon. He talked about information related to blood groups.  Altogether 32 donors come forward to donate blood.

At the end of the function, each blood donor was given a certificate. It was followed by a Cultural Program. Center coordinator Mr. Jagdish Prasad Swain thanked all dignitaries, Blood Bank team and trainees on behalf of Don Bosco Tech Society. It was certainly a memorable day for all trainees and Trainers of Don Bosco Tech, Thakurmunda and the session ended up with the national anthem.
