On October 28, 2023, Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda achieved a significant milestone in fostering a brighter future for its trainees in the Mushroom Grower job role, Batch 5, as part of the Accenture 2023-24 initiative. The organization hosted a special and engaging parent's meeting that brought together trainers, parents, and an enthusiastic community eager to delve into the world of organic farming.
Facilitated by dedicated trainers, namely Mr. Abhimanyu Behera (Domain Trainer), Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain (Domain Trainer), and Ms. Rasmita Behera (Support Domain Trainer), this event witnessed the active participation of parents from diverse corners of the Mayurbhanj District.
Mr. Abhimanyu Behera extended a warm welcome to the parents, delving into the significance of organic farming and its role in paving the way for a sustainable future. He eloquently highlighted the manifold advantages of organic farming, emphasizing its impact on providing clean, nutritious foods, while also safeguarding the environment for future generations.
Moreover, Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain offered profound insights into the necessary shifts in Mushroom farming practices. He elucidated on the benefits, challenges, and opportunities in mushroom production. Stressing its low capital requirement and minimal technical knowledge, Mr. Swain emphasized how mushroom cultivation empowers rural women and uplifts communities from the grassroots level, akin to rearing poultry with modest capital.
