Guest lecturer session for Mushroom Grower job role was successfully organized at Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda Center on January 13, 2023, for the student of Batch – 9 Accenture 12. Ms. Latarani Mohanta Field Officer of Horticulture Department Govt. of Odisha was invited as the guest lecturer.

The guest lecture began with welcome address by the domain trainer Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain. He has introduced and welcomed Mrs. Latarani Mohanta to deliver the lecture.

She described Mushrooms are long been valued as high medicinal and nutritional food by many societies around the world. Becoming self-employed in mushroom cultivation could be proved profitable for the low income group she said.

She has briefed types of mushroom in India. She described the benefit of cultivating mushroom and she said it is a landless cultivation procedure with optimum utilization of available space and less input investment. Especially unemployed persons should come forward to learn the cultivation skills of mushroom to reap the benefits of nutritional security and subsidiary income through this venture. The cultivation process is fairly straightforward and does not require additional labour compared to other sectors. Different types of Delicious Recipes like Mushrooms on Toast, Mushroom Soup, Mushroom Pakoras, Mushroom Pulao, Mushroom Pickle, Mushrooms and Peas Variation, and Mushroom Samosa etc. can be prepared from it to attract the customers and more opportunity to sales in market as well.

The lecture motivated the students to work hard and start a new venture through adequate forward planning and the execution of the plans.

The session was quite interactive, where the queries of the students were ably handled by the guest speaker. Mr. Diganta Pattnaik (Support Domain Trainer) appreciated the session and wished to arrange such fruitful sessions in future too.
