Exposure Visit of Organic Grower Job Role Trainees

Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda arranged an exposure visit to Mayurbhanj Krushak Sathi Farm Champajhar, Mayurbhanj to get the practical exposure for better understanding, so that trainess are in position to actually engage in organic farming. Visit was accompanied by Mr. Abhimanyu Behera (Domain Trainer) and Jagadish Prasad Swain (Centre Coordinator) along with all Organic Grower trainees on January 18, 2023, which helped them to dream their growth and progress in the chosen job role. The students arrived at the farm, where they were greeted by Proprietor Mr. Sisir Kumar Mohanta of Mayurbhanj Krushak Sathi Farm. While in field Sisir Mohanta asked the participants to grow organic crops and get quality yield.
The exposure visit created enthusiasm among the Organic Grower Trainees and their confidence increased. Such visit provided an opportunity to the Trainees and created a way for improving biodiversity conservation.
They visited the experimental plots of Cauliflower, Corn, Vermin-composting unit, and storage structure for vegetables, onion and garlic. They visited the entire organic farm and acquired technical information about different units. Mr. Sisir presented a brief overview and benefits of these technologies and benefits to the participants. Mr. Mohanta interacted with all participants regarding fruits and vegetables production by organic way. He also stated that climatic conditions and soil of Mayurbhanj district are favorable for organic farming. Thus, every farmer can be benefitted by adopting organic farming.
Furthermore, an open session was also organised for the participants to know about their viewpoint regarding organic farming. The participants assured to turn their fields into organic at least for their family. This visit inspired the participants to adopt organic farming. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Abhimanyu Behera to Sisir Kumar Mohanta and the participants.
