Don Bosco Tech, Thakurmunda organized a guest lecturer session for organic grower job role batch – 2 of Accenture – 2023-24 on June 10, 2023. Mr. Sukanta Kumar Sahoo Project Coordinator Livelihood of Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS) was invited as the guest lecture.

The guest lecture began with introduced by the domain trainer Mr. Abhimanyu Behera and he heartily welcomed Mr. Sukanta Kumar Sahoo to deliver the lecture.

Mr. Sukanta Kumar Sahoo interacted with trainees, and threw light on the need of organic farming in contemporary times. In his interaction; he highlighted the negative impacts of the chemicals that are used in farming in modern times, soil management, importance and ways to follow them. He advised trainees to adopt organic farming techniques like vermi-composting, jeewamrit and herbal spray to enhance quality of their products. He recommended aspirants to adopt natural techniques for Nutrient management, pest and disease control methods. He also conveyed information related to different government schemes related to organic farming.

Further, Mr. Sahoo, gave a presentation on “Technique of Organic Vegetable production”. He focused on the negative impacts of the chemicals being used in vegetables in modern time, He urged the trainees to use vermi-compost as far as possible but in case not possible then dung-compost should be used as green fuel. This green manure is not only cost-effective but also increases organic carbon in the soil he said.

At last, there was a question answer session and he explained and answers all queries. He has advised to trainees to adopt the process of organic way of production rather than the modern crop farming which in result deteriorates the soil and the human health. Finally Mr. Diganta Kumar Pattnaik (Support Domain Trainer) thanked to Mr. Sahoo for sharing his knowledge and taking the time out to educate the trainees.
