Don Bosco Tech, Thakurmunda organized 2nd guest lecturer session for organic grower job role Batch – 12, under Accenture – 12 on March 16, 2023. Mrs. Mukta Mohanta VLW of Panchayatraj & Drinking water Department of Odisha was invited as the guest lecture.

The guest lecture began with introduced by the domain trainer Mr. Abhimanyu Behera and he heartily welcomed Mrs. Mukta Mohanta to deliver the lecture.

She has shared the important and future of organic farming.  Organic farming has great potential in food grains, oilseeds, vegetables, plantation crops, spices, agro-forestry products, medicinal and aromatic plants, horticultural crops, livestock products, and fisheries. This potential can be used for agricultural development and livelihood development.

She explained advantage of organic farming such as in organic farming, no expensive fertilisers, pesticides, or HYV (high-yielding varieties) seeds are required for the plantation of crops. Therefore, there is no extra expense. With the usage of cheaper and local inputs, a farmer can make a good return on investment. There is a huge demand for organic products in India and across the globe, which generates more income through export. As compared to chemical and fertiliser-utilised products, organic products are more nutritional, tasty, and good for health. The farming of organic products is free of chemicals and fertilisers, so it does not harm the environment.

At last, she has advised to trainees to adopt the process of organic way of production rather than the modern crop farming which in result deteriorates the soil and the human health. She also suggested trainees to take seriously and make it as carrier. Finally Mr. Diganta  Pattnaik (Support Domain Trainer) thanked to Mrs. Mohanta for sharing her knowledge and taking the time out to educate the trainees.
