In an inspiring effort to bridge classroom theory with real-world practice, Don Bosco Tech Society, Thakurmunda organized an exposure visit to the Government Guest House, Thakurmunda, on August 4, 2025, for its housekeeping assistant students. The visit provided students with an invaluable opportunity to step into a professional housekeeping environment and observe industry standards, operations, and expectations firsthand.

Under the guidance of domain trainer Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain and Centre Head Mr. Sarat Chandra Tripathy, the visit turned into a dynamic learning experience. Their presence ensured students received expert insights into the workings of a professional hospitality setting. Special thanks go to Mr. Raghunandan Naik, the Guest House Supervisor, whose exceptional planning, coordination, and mentorship played a key role in making the event both impactful and memorable.

Throughout the day, students explored various aspects of professional housekeeping, including:

  • Understanding standard operating procedures and best practices

  • Learning the roles and responsibilities of housekeeping staff

  • Observing the correct use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and materials

  • Gaining knowledge of hygiene, safety protocols, and workplace discipline

  • Interacting directly with experienced industry professionals

This hands-on experience transformed theoretical knowledge into tangible understanding. Students were able to connect their classroom lessons with actual industry practices, enhancing their confidence and readiness for the job market. It also offered them the opportunity to ask questions, observe closely, and understand the importance of precision, teamwork, and professional conduct in the hospitality industry.

For many students, it was a moment of revelation—a real glimpse into their future careers. As one participant shared, “Seeing everything come to life made me realize how much I’ve learned and how much more there is to explore. It was truly inspiring.”

The visit also created meaningful networking opportunities and helped students begin to envision their professional journey more clearly. It fostered a sense of discipline and motivation that will undoubtedly stay with them as they move forward.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Raghunandan Naik and his dedicated team for their warm hospitality, support, and guidance. Their contribution was vital in making this educational visit a resounding success.

This exposure visit will remain a cherished memory for our students—a day that blended knowledge with experience, and inspiration with opportunity. It marked a meaningful step toward shaping skilled, confident, and industry-ready housekeeping professionals.
