Don Bosco Tech Society, Sambalpur Centre, celebrated World Youth Skills Day 2026 with great enthusiasm under the theme "Empowering Youth Through Skills." The programme witnessed active participation from trainees, the Centre Head, trainers, and staff members. The main attraction of the celebration was the "Our Skills, Our Future – Dream Tree" activity.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an inspiring message from the Centre Head on the importance of skill development and lifelong learning. Trainees were encouraged to dream big, continue learning, and work with discipline to achieve their career goals.

A large Dream Tree was displayed in the classroom. Each trainee received a paper leaf and wrote their dream career, one skill they wanted to improve, and one positive habit or commitment towards achieving their goal. The trainees shared aspirations of becoming Graphic Designers, Help Desk Executives, Front Office Associates, Customer Care Executives, Call Centre Executives, Social Media Designers, General Managers, Entrepreneurs, and other professionals. They also committed to improving skills such as communication, English speaking, computer knowledge, leadership, teamwork, creativity, and time management. Many promised to stay positive, work hard, and never give up.

One by one, the trainees came forward, shared their dreams and commitments, and pasted their leaves on the Dream Tree. The activity encouraged confidence, self-reflection, and public speaking while creating an inspiring display of future aspirations.

An interactive discussion followed, where trainees spoke about their career goals, the skills required to achieve them, and the importance of continuous learning. The programme concluded with a Skill Pledge, where everyone pledged to learn with dedication, improve their skills every day, and work honestly towards building a bright future.

The celebration was meaningful and inspiring. The active participation of the trainees and staff made the programme a great success and reinforced the message that every skill learned today is a step towards a brighter future.
