02 Jun 2025
On June 2, 2025, Don Bosco Tech, Jalandhar Centre, hosted a dynamic and enlightening Placement Orientation Session for students enrolled in the IT – Customer Care Executive and E-Commerce Executive courses. The event was led by Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Manager – State Operations & MIS for Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, whose engaging presence and practical insights turned the session into a memorable milestone in the students' career journeys.
From the outset, Mrs. Kaur captivated the audience with a clear and relatable walkthrough of the placement process, guiding students through each stage—from preparing for interviews to thriving in their professional roles after employment. Her address was more than just informative; it was a roadmap infused with real-world relevance. She delved into the essence of employability, emphasizing the often-overlooked yet vital components like dressing with purpose, using confident body language, aligning with employer expectations, and mastering interpersonal communication.
The session transcended the typical boundaries of a formal orientation. It became a space for self-discovery and ambition. With a tone both motivational and matter-of-fact, Mrs. Kaur encouraged students to take ownership of their future, approaching career planning with curiosity and commitment. Her structured explanation of Don Bosco Tech’s placement mechanism—including activity timelines, the registration process, and required documentation—offered clarity to even the most uncertain minds, replacing anxiety with assurance.
One of the most striking aspects of the session was its strong focus on personality development. Mrs. Kaur made it clear that technical knowledge, while essential, is only part of what employers seek. She painted a vivid picture of the modern workplace, where soft skills, professionalism, and a can-do attitude can be the deciding factors in career success. To bring these concepts to life, students took part in engaging activities and discussions that challenged them to reflect, interact, and envision their future selves.
Perhaps the most touching moment came when Mrs. Kaur spoke of the broader purpose behind pursuing a career: self-reliance, supporting one’s family, and becoming an active contributor to society. Her words resonated deeply, especially with the young participants fresh out of 12th grade, many of whom were stepping into the world of work for the first time. For them, the session was not just preparation—it was transformation.
As the day concluded, it was clear that the orientation had left an indelible mark. The students walked away not only with practical tools and knowledge but with renewed confidence and a sense of direction. It was more than an event; it was a spark—a launchpad for futures yet to unfold, driven by purpose, awareness, and possibility.
