On 4th June, 2025 Don Bosco Tech, Chandigarh organized a special Health Guest Lecture aimed at promoting awareness about hygiene, health, and mental well-being among students. The session was held on campus and was attended by students and faculty members with great enthusiasm. The lecture featured two esteemed guests: Dr. Kshama Dutt, a certified yoga instructor, and Dr. Suriti, a health and hygiene expert. Both speakers shared their knowledge and practical tips to help students lead healthier lives, especially during the summer season. Dr. Suriti began the session by addressing the importance of personal hygiene and health care during summers. She highlighted the common health problems that occur due to heat and poor hygiene, such as dehydration, heatstroke, and skin infections. She advised students to drink plenty of water, wear light cotton clothes, maintain cleanliness, and eat fresh and healthy food to stay protected in the summer months. Following this, Dr. Kshama Dutt took over the session and conducted an engaging talk on the benefits of yoga for students. She explained how yoga helps in calming the mind, improving focus, and relaxing the body. Dr. Kshama demonstrated some simple yoga asanas such as Tadasana, Bhujangasana, and Vrikshasana that are especially helpful for students who spend long hours in front of computers. These exercises were aimed at reducing stress, improving posture, and relieving back and neck pain caused by prolonged sitting. The session was interactive, and students eagerly participated by asking questions and trying out the yoga poses. The guests appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and encouraged them to practice hygiene and yoga regularly as part of a healthy lifestyle. In conclusion, the health guest lecture at Don Bosco Tech, Chandigarh was highly informative and beneficial. It helped the students understand the importance of taking care of their body and mind, especially during the summer season.
