Report on the Celebration of World Youth Skills Day 2026

Don Bosco Tech Society, Thakurmunda Centre, celebrated World Youth Skills Day 2026 with enthusiasm under the theme "My Skill, My Future." The programme witnessed active participation from trainees, the Centre Head, trainers, and staff members. The highlight of the celebration was the "My Handprint, My Promise" activity, which encouraged trainees to make a personal commitment towards learning and building a better future.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by a brief introduction on the importance of World Youth Skills Day. The trainees were encouraged to continue learning new skills, work hard, and develop positive values that would help them succeed in their personal and professional lives.

A large chart titled "My Handprint, My Promise" was displayed with the message "Together We Learn, Together We Grow." One by one, each trainee placed a colourful handprint on the chart as a symbol of their commitment. After placing their handprint, they wrote one personal promise beside it.

The trainees made inspiring commitments such as "I will work hard," "I will be punctual," "I will stay positive," "I will be honest," "I will improve my skills," and "I will never give up." The activity encouraged self-reflection and motivated trainees to take responsibility for achieving their goals.

An interactive discussion followed, where trainees shared how positive habits, discipline, and continuous learning could help them build successful careers. The trainer motivated the participants by emphasizing that every small effort today contributes to a brighter future tomorrow.

The programme concluded with a Skill Pledge, where all trainees pledged to learn with dedication, improve their skills every day, respect others, and work honestly for the betterment of themselves, their families, and society.

The celebration was meaningful and inspiring. The active participation of trainees and staff made the programme a great success and reinforced the importance of skill development, lifelong learning, and personal commitment in achieving career aspirations.
