On February 19, 2026, Don Bosco Tech Society, Thakurmunda Centre organized an insightful guest lecture session for the trainees of Housekeeping Batch 5 under the Housekeeping Assistant job role. The session featured Mr. N.K. Basir Ali, Retired Headmaster of Talapada High School, as the keynote speaker. The event was conducted under the guidance of Centre Head Mr. Sarat Chandra Tripathy, Domain Trainer Mr. Satyajit Das, and Field Officer Mrs. Golap Behera.

In his address, Mr. Ali shared valuable insights on the importance and scope of housekeeping. He explained that housekeeping involves managing household duties such as cleaning, organizing, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring safety in both residential and professional environments like hotels, hospitals, and offices. In simple terms, housekeeping means keeping a place clean, organized, and well-maintained.

He highlighted that placements in housekeeping refer to job opportunities or practical training positions offered after completing professional training. These opportunities are available in sectors where cleanliness, order, and hygiene are essential. He also elaborated on various career roles in the field, including Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Housekeeper, Room Attendant, Housekeeping Attendant, and Cleaner. He emphasized that students who prefer active and practical work environments may find housekeeping a suitable and rewarding career choice.

The session also focused on skill development, explaining how daily housekeeping tasks enhance organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and customer service abilities. Mr. Ali encouraged trainees to view housekeeping not just as an entry-level job, but as a career path with opportunities for growth, specialization, management roles, and even international employment.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where trainees actively participated and clarified their doubts. Mrs. Golap Behera delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Mr. Ali for his valuable guidance. The lecture inspired the trainees and reinforced their confidence in building a successful career in the hospitality industry.
