On June 10, 2025, the Don Bosco Tech Society in Thakurmunda began a new journey of growth and empowerment with the launch of the first batch of its “Skills to Succeed” 2025-26 program. This batch focuses on training future Housekeeping Assistants and aims to create long-term job opportunities in India’s often-overlooked service sector.

The inauguration started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the move from darkness to light. The event was graced by Centre Head Mr. Sarat Chandra Tripathy, Domain Trainer Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain, and guests Mr. Abhimanyu Behera, Mrs. Rasmita Behera, and Mrs. Golapa Behera who joined the hand with trainees in marking this special occasion.

In his keynote speech, Mr. Tripathy explained the importance of housekeeping. He said that housekeeping is the practice of keeping homes and workplaces clean, safe, and organized. It includes tasks like cleaning, laundry, waste disposal, and maintaining hygiene. Good housekeeping is vital in places like hotels, hospitals, offices, and homes, as it ensures safety and comfort.

He added that regular housekeeping helps remove dust and germs, which improves health and prevents accidents like slips and falls. A clean and tidy workplace also helps people stay focused and work better. It creates a positive and professional image for visitors.

Mr. Jagadish Prasad Swain, a key figure in the program, thanked everyone involved. He talked about the hands-on training approach designed to give students not just knowledge but also confidence and direction. He encouraged trainees to be curious and committed throughout their learning journey.

The event ended with a sense of hope and excitement. For the trainees, this was not just a beginning, but a step toward a brighter future in the service industry. Mrs. Rasmita Behera, Support Domain Trainer, delivered the vote of thanks and wished the trainees great success in their journey ahead.
