On September 29, 2025, the Don Bosco Tech Society in Thakurmunda launched the 2nd batch of its “Skills to Succeed” 2025-26 program, focused on training future Electrician Domestic Solutions (EDS) professionals. This program aims to create long-term career opportunities in India’s growing service and electrical maintenance sector.

The inauguration began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the transition from darkness to light. The event was graced by Centre Head Mr. Sarat Chandra Tripathy, Domain Trainer Mr. Abhimanyu Behera, and Mrs. Rasmita Behera, who joined the trainees in marking this special occasion.

In his keynote speech, Mr. Tripathy explained that Electrician Domestic Solutions involve the installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic electrical systems and devices. These solutions ensure safe and efficient functioning of electricity in homes, offices, and small commercial setups.

Mr. Abhimanyu Behera highlighted the practical benefits of electrical knowledge in everyday life:

  1. Safe Electrical Installations: Proper wiring and installation of household electrical appliances and systems.
  2. Maintenance and Repair: Identifying and fixing electrical faults in domestic circuits, lighting, fans, and other appliances.
  3. Energy Efficiency: Advising and implementing solutions to reduce power consumption in households.
  4. Improved Safety: Ensuring electrical systems comply with safety standards, reducing risk of shocks, short circuits, or fire hazards.

He emphasized the hands-on training approach, designed to provide trainees with practical skills, confidence, and readiness to work independently in the field. Trainees were encouraged to be curious, disciplined, and committed throughout their learning journey.

After completing this training, trainees will be able to work in various roles and sectors, including:

· Domestic electrical installation and maintenance services in homes and residential complexes.

· Repair and servicing of household electrical appliances, fans, lighting systems, and small electrical equipment.

· Work with electricians in construction sites for residential and small commercial projects.

· Opportunities in electrical service centers and electrical maintenance companies.

· Independent entrepreneurship as home electricians, offering installation, repair, and maintenance services.
