On August 5, 2025, Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda organized its first guest lecture for the Electrician Domestic Solutions (EDS) job role, Batch 2, under the Skills to Succeed 2025–26 program. This milestone event was graced by Mr. Pradeep Kumar Nayak, a Master Trainer from Shahi Skill Development Training Centre, Baripada, who was invited as the guest lecturer.

The session began with a warm welcome address by the Domain Trainer, Mr. Abhimanyu Behera, who introduced Mr. Nayak to the trainees. Guest lectures play a vital role in enriching the training experience by bringing in real-world perspectives and industry insights. It was a pleasure to announce that the session was both informative and inspiring for all attendees.

As Mr. Nayak took the stage, there was a clear sense of anticipation. He began by highlighting the importance of electricians in today’s modern world, emphasizing how they play a crucial role in making our lives more convenient, efficient, and safe. From household appliances to smart home systems, Electrician Domestic Solutions are transforming how we live and work at home.

The session aimed to provide trainees with a deeper understanding of emerging technologies in the field, their practical applications, and their increasing demand in the job market. Mr. Nayak discussed key concepts such as house wiring, fan winding, and other basic services that can provide employment opportunities even within one’s local area—if the skills are learned properly.

He also shared insights into the current trends in the EDS sector in India, which is witnessing rapid growth in smart, connected appliances across both urban and rural regions. He pointed out that local manufacturing initiatives and favorable government policies are helping to sustain this momentum. While challenges such as affordability and awareness remain, targeted solutions and campaigns are in progress.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Abhimanyu Behera, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Nayak for his valuable contribution and for sharing his expertise with the trainees.
