Mental Health Awareness Activity Report

As part of the World Youth Skills Day 2026 celebration, Don Bosco Tech – Thakurmunda Centre conducted a Mental Health Awareness Activity on 14th July 2026. The activity aimed to raise awareness among trainees about the importance of mental health, encourage positive lifestyle habits, and promote emotional well-being as an essential life skill for personal and professional success.

The session began with a brief introduction by the trainer on the importance of mental health, positive thinking, stress management, and supporting one another. Trainees actively participated by preparing and presenting a creative awareness poster titled "Mental Health Matters."

The poster highlighted several key messages promoting positive mental well-being, including:

  • Healthy Mind, Healthy Life
  • Positive Thinking
  • Be Kind to Yourself and Others
  • Social Support
  • Low Stress Moments
  • Eat Healthy Food
  • Always Be Grateful
  • Express Your Emotions to Trusted Persons

The trainer explained the significance of each message and encouraged trainees to adopt these healthy habits in their daily lives. The discussion focused on maintaining a positive mindset, building supportive relationships, practising gratitude, managing stress effectively, and seeking support from trusted individuals whenever needed.

Due to weather conditions, the planned awareness walk was conducted inside the classroom. The trainees displayed their awareness poster, participated enthusiastically in the discussion, and reflected on the importance of maintaining good mental health.

The programme concluded with a Mental Health Pledge, where all trainees pledged to take care of their mental well-being, support one another, speak kindly, and seek help whenever required. The activity reinforced that developing life skills such as resilience, emotional awareness, communication, and self-care is essential for becoming confident, productive, and responsible young professionals.
